PARENT SUPORT PARTNER: A Parent Support Partner (PSP) provides support, education, and empowerment activities for parents, caregivers, and guardians of children with serious emotional challenges. The Parent Support Partner helps families engage in OnPoint services, meets with families in their homes to work on identified goals, helps parents and caregivers navigate behavioral health and other systems, and supports parents to ensure their voices are heard. The PSP seeks to enhance the behavioral health and quality of life for children and their families by providing a consistent source of non-judgmental support, encouragement, and hope.

PAY RANGE/BENEFIT PACKAGE: 
Salary: starting at $39,222.86 to $54,127.54 annually - placement above minimum salary is based on experience.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2 years lived experience being a parent of a child with serious emotional disturbance or developmental disabilities.
  • Obtain certification approved by the State of Michigan as a Parent Support Partner within 6 months of employment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION:
  • One year of experience working in the community mental health setting.
  • Lived experiences with mental illness/developmental disabilities/ co-occurring disorders/substance use disorders valued.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Coach families to navigate systems through skill building and providing information, teaching families how to access and obtain community resources.
  • Learn families’ stories, culture, strengths, and concerns.
  • Support engagement in OnPoint services for the child and family.
  • Participate in the integration of primary and behavioral health care services.
  • Coordinates and/or co-facilitates parent groups.
  • Meets with parents and/or caregivers on an individual basis to support their role in achieving identified treatment goals.
  • Support families as they identify and implement techniques and strategies to support their child.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

EQUIPMENT/TECHNOLOGY KNOWLEDGE: 
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient use with Electronic Medical Records (EMR).

POSITIONS TO BE FILLED:
